Sex Ed in the Bible Belt

A delightful read on one of my favorite subjects. I grew up mostly in Long Beach, CA — otherwise known as “Iowa by the Sea.” Not the Bible Belt, but Bible Belt mentality prevailed. Someone pulled my underpants down while I was hanging upside down from the bar on the playground. And then my underpants slipped down while square dancing with my class up on the auditorium stage. The elastic gave out. Apparently, I was a marked woman. In the 3rd grade I developed an inexplicable crush on Michael Mohan.
